Velva in Claude and ChatGPT

How to connect Velva to your assistant, what it can do, and what to do when something goes wrong.

What it does

Velva is a studio for film and advertising work. Connected to your assistant, it lets you ask in your own words for pictures, clips, 3D models and sound, run the boards (workflows) you built in Velva, post or schedule your work on your own social accounts, read your ad accounts' results, and find and file your projects and Library. Everything it makes lands in your Velva Library.

The connector's address is https://velva.ai/mcp. You sign in with your Velva account and choose what the assistant may do on Velva's own consent page.

Connect it in Claude

  1. Open Customize → Connectors. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
  2. Press + → Add custom connector. Press the plus button and pick Add custom connector.
  3. Paste the Velva address → Add. Name it Velva, paste the address at the top of this guide (Copy the address puts it on your clipboard; it ends in /mcp) and press Add.
  4. Connect → sign in to Velva → Allow. Press Connect. Signed out? Velva asks you to sign in, then opens its consent page with what Claude may do on your account. Press Allow and you go back to Claude. You can remove the connection any time in Velva's Settings.
  5. In a chat: + → Connectors → Velva on. In any chat, press the plus button, open Connectors and turn Velva on.
  6. Ask — Velva quotes before it runs. Ask Claude in your own words and give it a limit. Velva quotes every press first, refuses a press quoted above your limit, and charges your credits exactly like a press in Velva.
  7. The takes land in your Library. Every picture and clip lands in your Velva Library, with the price of the press that made it.

On the Free plan Claude takes one custom connector. On a Team or Enterprise plan an Owner adds Velva first, under Organization settings → Connectors; then each member presses Connect.

Connect it in ChatGPT

  1. Settings → Developer mode on. In ChatGPT open Settings, then Security and login, and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Plugins → + → paste the address → Create. Open Plugins and press the plus button. Name it Velva, paste the address at the top of this guide (Copy the address puts it on your clipboard; it ends in /mcp) and press Create.
  3. Sign in to Velva → Allow. Signed out? Velva asks you to sign in, then opens its consent page with what ChatGPT may do on your account. Press Allow and you go back to ChatGPT. You can remove the connection any time in Velva's Settings.
  4. Ask — Velva quotes before it runs. Ask ChatGPT in your own words and give it a limit. Velva quotes every press first, refuses a press quoted above your limit, and charges your credits exactly like a press in Velva.
  5. The takes land in your Library. Every picture and clip lands in your Velva Library, with the price of the press that made it.

ChatGPT connects Velva by its address in developer mode, which ChatGPT offers on some plans only. Once Velva is listed in ChatGPT’s plugin directory, Plugins → find Velva → Connect will do the same in one step.

How spending works

  • Your assistant's thinking is paid by your assistant plan. Velva charges nothing for it.
  • Every press that makes something is priced first and charged to your Velva credits, exactly like a press in Velva.
  • Give a limit in your ask. A press quoted above it is refused and nothing is charged. A board's run stops at the board's spend ceiling.
  • A press that makes nothing is refunded.
  • Posting to your social accounts is free of credits, and only happens when you ask for a post.
  • Nothing is deleted through the connector.

Try asking

  • “In Velva, list my boards and tell me what each would cost to run.”
  • “In Velva, make a 16:9 picture of a perfume bottle on black sand at sunrise. No more than 40 credits.”
  • “In Velva, make a 5-second clip: a harbour at dusk, neon on wet stone, slow push in. No more than 150 credits.”
  • “In Velva, show my last five projects and rename the newest one to "Spring campaign".”
  • “In Velva, how many credits do I have, and what did I spend this week?”
  • “In Velva, post my last clip to my Instagram tomorrow at 6pm with the caption "Spring is here".”
  • “In Velva, how did my Meta ads do over the last 7 days, campaign by campaign?”

Your data

The connector reads and changes only your own Velva account, and only what you ask for. It does not read your chat history or your assistant's memory. You can remove the connection at any time in Velva's Settings. The Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service apply.

When something goes wrong

Velva does not answer in a chat
In Claude, open the chat’s + menu, then Connectors, and turn Velva on. In ChatGPT, check that developer mode is still on and that Velva is in your plugins.
"This connection was not given the right to …"
The connection was made without that right. Remove Velva in your assistant, add it again with the same address, and on Velva’s consent page leave the right ticked before you press Allow.
A press was refused as "quoted above your limit"
Velva never spends more than the limit you name. Ask for the price first, then give a limit at or above it.
Not enough credits
The press is refused and nothing is charged. Add credits or change plan on velva.ai under Plans, then ask again.
It connected to the wrong Velva account
Remove the connection in Velva’s Settings, sign out of velva.ai in your browser, sign in with the account you want and connect again.
A long clip is still running
A press keeps running when you leave. Ask your assistant to check it again later with the same job; it lands in your Velva Library when done.
A post did not go out
Connect the account in Velva’s Settings first. Instagram posts only to a Business or Creator account, Facebook to a Page you manage, Pinterest to a board you have, and TikTok takes clips only. Ask your assistant for your latest posts to see each one’s own line.
Claude’s Free plan already has a custom connector
The Free plan takes one custom connector. On a Team or Enterprise plan an Owner adds Velva first under Organization settings, then Connectors.
